为了促进华文学习，以达至“乐学善用”的目标，南小通过多元化的教学设计以及丰富的辅助活动，激发孩子的学习兴趣，让华文跨出课本，融入生活。精彩活动

旗舰项目 – 校本课程

The Chinese Department nurtures passionate and confident language users. Guided by the school motto, we foster cultural appreciation, critical thinking, and effective communication, while inspiring a lifelong love for learning. Students flourish in a bilingual and bicultural environment that supports holistic growth.

We adopt the Whole Language Approach and Experiential Learning to deepen language mastery. Lessons are student-centred, featuring collaborative learning and authentic tasks that promote critical thinking. Emphasis is placed on real-life language use and the cultivation of Chinese traditional values within a bilingual and bicultural context.

Learning Highlights

Our department offers vibrant and meaningful Chinese learning experiences through key school-wide programmes:

• Annual Reading Initiative – nurtures a love for Chinese literature across all levels.

• Mother Tongue Fortnight, Chinese Fun Day, and Primary 3 Language Camp – engage students in cultural games and hands-on activities that bring the language to life.

• Storytelling and Reading-Aloud Competitions – strengthen teamwork, oral expression, and confidence in using the language.

• Creative Writing Competition – provides a platform for students to showcase imagination and flair.

• IPW Project “I Am a Tree” – blends science and the arts as students explore school plants and present reflections through integrated poetry-and-art pieces.

• Publications – outstanding works are featured annually in Zhao Yang, with additional writing samples and model compositions shared on the Nanyang Wen Cui website.

These initiatives help students connect language with real life while deepening cultural appreciation, creativity, and the joy of learning.
