Future-Ready Innovators: Green Maker CCA
Our CCA provides students with authentic opportunities to explore innovation, sustainability and design through hands-on learning, from basic fabrication to advanced circuitry, to develop 21st-century competencies. By integrating Design Thinking, Applied Science and environmental stewardship, students learn about Singapore’s Smart Nation and Green Plan 2030, develop creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills while learning to care for the environment.
Students engage in a range of practical learning experiences, including:
Eco-Prototyping & Upcycling: Designing and building functional prototypes with basic tools, using recycled materials such as cardboard and plastics, while exploring sustainable design solutions.
Botany & Environmental Science: Growing succulents, air plants, herbs and hydroponic edibles, complemented by activities that promote waste reduction, energy conservation and responsible consumption.
Creative Engineering: Designing mechanical automata and exploring bionic models to discover how nature inspires engineering and technological innovation.
Smart Urban Sustainability – Applying Maker skills to hydroponic systems and exploring technologies that support sustainable urban farming and Singapore's ”30 by 30” food security goals.
Through these experiences, students develop confidence as innovative makers and environmentally conscious citizens. They are encouraged to think creatively, collaborate effectively and apply their knowledge to design meaningful solutions for real-world challenges.
